If you own a website and want to drive more traffic to it there is one simple way to do it – link building. Through link building you will gain visitors in two ways: first you will have people coming directly from the websites where you have the link posted and you will get even more, much more visitors though Google, Yahoo and other major search engines.

Why do you get traffic from search engines if you build links? It's a complicated algorithm behind all this but the thing is that the more backlinks you have the more will Google “respect” you. Link value and count is the way search engines evaluate the value of your site. So need more traffic? Start link building!

But where can you start and what is the best way to do it? The answers may vary from pro to pro, from guru to guru, but trust me on this one – blogs are your golden resource. There are many places on a blog where you can post your link.

The first option you have is to find a high ranked blog and get in contact with its owner. You can talk to him or her and pay a small amount of money to either get a post containing your link or get your link posted somewhere in the side bar, usually as advertising. There are several reasons for which you would want to choose this path. First of all the link you obtain is a genuine, relevant link. If you manage to get your link into a post the readers of that post won't perceive that as advertising and you have much higher chances of actually getting visitors of the blog to come by over you as well. Another reason would be the price. Bloggers won't charge you that much as they usually don't blog for a profit. So take advantage of this! Finally we need to mention that this method will work great for you because there will usually be no other links near by.

Another option which you have with blogs is a very utilized one. Simply comment. Yes, read the post and then comment. And somewhere, somehow also insert your link. But there is a right way and a wrong way of doing it. You're doing it wrong when you comment on a blog which has nothing to do with your niche. If you were a blogger, would you approve a comment about vegetables on a blog about cars? I bet you wouldn't. So take care and only post on your niche. You are also doing it the wrong way if you don't read before commenting. Read the post and then say something relevant!

Taking advantage of blogs is a great way of link building, improving your traffic and taking the bets out of your website and business!
