Easy Weight Control with Hypnosis

So many men and women struggle with weight control. Hypnosis has emerged as a means for helping those people lose weight who canít do it on their own. Some people have tried weight loss programs, diet pills, smoothie shakes, and other dietary plans without success. They turn to hypnosis, which acts on the mind and on things like appetite and eating habits in order to affect a permanent change in the way they eat.

There are many ways in which hypnosis helps weight control. Hypnosis involves putting someone in a hypnotic trance through the process of induction and giving them suggestions that get into the mind and change the way the person thinks and feels about weight loss and their self image. Suggestions can include things like ìI will only eat foods that are healthy for meî or ìI love my body and myselfî or ìI am going to eat 1500 calories per day only.î These things carry forth when the individual is awakened and they begin to believe these things and follow them.

Exercise is a big part of weight control. Hypnosis can help with that as well. In the same or different session, the person undergoes induction and is put into a hypnotic trance and may be given suggestions like ìYou will feel the urge to ride your bike every dayî or ìYou will walk four miles each dayî or ìYou will make it a habit of getting out and exercising at least four times per week.î When awakened, the individual will begin to feel the urge to exercise and will begin exercising while they are losing weight and eating better.

Sometimes it takes more than one session to affect weight control. Hypnosis is a complicated thing and not everyone is very susceptible to being hypnotized. Easily hypnotizable subjects can sometimes get by with just one session of hypnosis; however, those who are hard to hypnotize may need more than one hypnotic session. One can focus on body image in one session, focus on exercise in another session and focus on eating habits in a final session. If the weight loss process takes a long time, sometimes hypnosis sessions need to be repeated to keep the suggestions fresh in the clientís mind.

Children sometimes struggle with weight control. Hypnosis is something that is very easy to do on children without medications or complicated diet plans. With kids, who are usually highly suggestible, you can give simple suggestions like ìI will only eat what my mother gives meî or ìI will not eat candy or sweetsî or ìI will exercise outdoors every dayî. Kids are very concrete and the suggestions need to be concrete for them to understand them. Talking to the mother beforehand to see what problems the child has would be very helpful.

There is a definite place for hypnosis in weight control. Hypnosis is safe and effective in just about anyone. It takes only an hour or so to take effect and the effect is often immediate. Speak to a qualified hypnotherapist about losing weight issues.
